THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a big relief to citizens reeling under torpid heat in the state, the IMD predicted rainfall in seven districts on Saturday. The seven districts mentioned will also receive abundant rainfall on Sunday while the northern districts of Kerala will continue to suffer under the sweltering heat. Taking note of the black sea phenomenon, a warning was issued in the coastal belt of Kerala on Saturday about the high waves. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center explained the possibility of high waves of 0.5 to 1.5 meters along the Kerala coast, South Tamil Nadu and North Tamil Nadu coasts from 2.30 am to 11.30 pm on the 28th of April.

Fishermen and coastal dwellers should be cautious as there is a possibility of storm surge.

  1. As the rough seas are likely to intensify, stay away from dangerous areas as per the instructions of the authorities.
  2. Keep fishing vessels (boats, boats, etc.) safely moored in the harbour. Keeping a safe distance between boats can avoid the risk of collision. The safety of fishing equipment should be ensured.
