THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The possibility of a heat wave has been confirmed in Kollam and Thrissur districts, besides Palakkad. Palakkad has been recording five degrees above normal temperature for the past five days. A heat wave is confirmed when the temperature rises by 5 degrees for five consecutive days. According to the Meteorological Center, Kollam and Thrissur are experiencing this temperature condition. Kollam and Thrissur districts will experience temperatures of up to 40 degrees in the next three days. The temperature in Palakkad may reach 41 degrees.

Sunstroke and sunburns are more likely to occur during a heat wave. Severe sunstroke can even lead to death. It is also advised not to expose the body to direct sunlight from 11 am to 3 pm. There is no chance of summer rain in the next few days.
