ADOOR: Enathu Bridge on MC Road has slowly earned its place as a contender for the most sought-after location by tourists in the southern part of Kerala. The radiance and the joy the sunflower field brings could rival the scenic beauty of Sundarapandiapuram and Gundlupet.
People mostly from Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Kollam districts are flocking to this region. With the place recording massive crowds, a Rs 20 ticket charge was introduced. Apart from crowds and locals, the spot has been earmarked by filmmakers for shooting song sequences. In the coming times, Enathu Bridge, in all probability, will make its presence on the silver screen.
Manu Thevalapram and Anil Mangalyam, the owners of Dharani Farms, which supplies non-toxic vegetables to the market, are the architects behind the picturesque sunflower field. There are three workers to irrigate the field as the intense heat is harmful to the sunflower plants. Poultry manure, compost and cow dung are used as fertilizers.
