KOCHI: Liquor outlets in Kerala usually witness big queues especially during special occasions like Onam and Christmas. There has even been court intervention over long queues to buy liquor that extend to roads.

To counter this situation, premium counters came into existence for consumers to buy liquor in a margin free market system. Liquor above a fixed price is available at premium counters.

Now, a new system seen in foreign nations has been implemented at Cochin International Airport. In the duty free shop, goods including alcohol will be taken in a vehicle and delivered to the customers.

The special feature is that you can buy alcohol from this vehicle without queuing when the shops at the airport are crowded.
