THRISSUR: Two guards employed at Vellanikkara Service Cooperative Bank were found dead in Thrissur. The two dead have been identified as Aravindakshan (70) of Kundukattil and Antony (69) of Thaikattil. The two belong to Vellanikkara.

The bank functions within the campus of Mannuthi Agricultural University. The woman, who came to clean the bank early Monday morning saw the body first. She immediately informed the cashier and the manager, who reached the bank, and they informed the police.

Antony's body was found inside the building and Aravindakshan's body was found in a nearby drain. Antony sustained fatal head injuries. There were blood stains on the ground. Arvindakshan's body was found 100 meters away in a drain in a search conducted. A poison bottle was also found nearby. The initial conclusion of the police is that one may have committed suicide after the murder.

Bank secretary Smitha responded that she was not aware of any work-related issues between the two. Arvindakshan has been the bank's security for the past three years. Antony was assigned as the security guard due to some maintenance work going on. The incident happened when his tenure was about to end tomorrow as the works were completed.
