THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister K B Ganesh Kumar said that no action will be taken against driver Yadhu for the time being over the verbal dispute with Mayor Arya Rajendran in the middle of the road. None of the passengers of the bus at the time of the incident have spoken against the driver. Therefore, the minister is of the stand that no action will be taken until the police report and the report of the KSRTC vigilance department are received. He told this to a media. With this, Sachin Dev MLA will meet the minister and file a complaint.

Should stand on the side of justice. The poor driver cannot be sacked considering the mayor and the MLA on opposite sides. The minister said that departmental action will be taken against Yadhu only if there is any truth in the report given by the police and the vigilance. Yadhu has the support of the ruling unions of KSRTC.

Meantime, the CPM leaders claimed that a political move against the mayor is taking place when the local elections are to be held next year. The KSRTC vigilance department spoke to the eyewitnesses on the instructions of Ganesh Kumar in connection with the incident. The vigilance recorded the statements of the passengers who traveled from Thrissur to Thiruvananthapuram on reserved seats after taking their phone numbers. The conductor of the bus also testified in favor of the driver.

The passengers stated that the mayor and her team provoked the driver. Moreover, they also complained that they could not complete the journey they had booked. The passengers also said that they were dropped midway even with two kilometers to go. The MLA got inside the bus and asked the passengers to alight. The police reached the spot and informed the passengers that the driver was guilty and wanted to take him into custody.

The mayor engaged in a verbal exchange with the driver on the road for not giving way to her private car on Saturday. The police registered a case against the driver on her complaint for reckless driving and misbehavior.
