KOCHI: A woman drowned in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam. She has been identified as Jomol (25), a native of Chengannur. She came from Bengaluru to attend her friend's wedding.

She along with some others went to bathe in Periyar at Panamkuruthottam area in Perumbavoor. Though the others tried to save Jomol, they failed in their attempt. She was later found in a search conducted by the locals and the fire force. Though she was rushed to the hospital, her life could not be saved. The police informed that the body will be handed over to the relatives after the procedures.
