PATNA: Central government has denied the news that Union Home Minister Amit Shah's helicopter went out of control while taking off. The news that circulated on social media was that the helicopter in which Amit Shah was travelling lost control during take-off at Begusarai in Bihar this afternoon. The news even included a video of the incident. However, the Union Home Ministry has confirmed that no such incident took place.
In the video, the helicopter is seen swaying while taking off and then touching the ground. The video also shows the pilot regaining control of the helicopter and taking off. Amit Shah has reached Bihar today for an election campaign rally.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has issued a notice to the Chief Minister of Telangana in the incident of circulating a video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah speaking about the abolition of reservation quota. Revanth Reddy has been asked to appear for questioning on May 1. The Delhi police took action on the complaint filed by the Union Home Ministry demanding to find those who were behind the edited video. Apart from Revanth Reddy, the Delhi Police have issued notices to four other persons from Telangana.
The video shows Union Home Minister Amit Shah saying that the reservation quota for SC, ST and OBC should be abolished. The video was shared on X by the official social media account of the Telangana Congress. Several Congress leaders also later shared the video in the name of 'BJP's agenda to abolish SC/ST reservation quotas'. The BJP soon came out alleging that the video was fake. They accused the Congress of circulating a deep fake video from its official handle to create confusion among the people. The police have also sent notices to Facebook and X to trace the accounts of those who uploaded and shared the video.
