Congress leader VT Balram has lashed out at Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran. Balram's criticism comes after more CCTV footage of the altercation between Arya Rajendran and the KSRTC driver surfaced.
In his Facebook post, Balram asked if it wasn't a legal offence to deliberately obstruct traffic by parking a car in front of vehicles stopped at the signal.
Meanwhile, the footage of the altercation that emerged on Monday raised serious questions about the previous allegations made by the Mayor. The mayor had earlier denied parking the car in front of the bus while confronting the bus driver. She had also said that her car was parked on the side, not in any way obstructing the passage of other vehicles. However, the footage shows that the car was parked on the zebra line in front of the bus near the Saphalyam complex in Palayam.
However, KSRTC driver Yadhu has been asked to stay away from duty. No special order has been issued regarding Yadhu's exclusion from duty as he is a driver belonging to the alternative group working in the vacancy of permanent employees. At the same time, footage that surfaced yesterday shows that the driver was not at fault in the incident. The passengers on the bus also responded in favour of the driver.
