THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth attacked a temporary employee of the medical college hospital. Jayakumari, working in the MRI scanning department, sustained injuries. The medical college police took into custody the youth identified as Anil of Poovar in connection with the incident that happened at around 11 am today.

Reports said Anil beat Jayakumari brutally for not giving the scanning date. He hit her on her face with the steal bangle he was wearing. In the impact, she sustained facial fractures. She is presently undergoing treatment in the casualty of the medical college.

Jayakumari told a media that he attacked her without any provocation. She asked Anil to see the doctor and come. However, she said that he hurled abuses and attacked her brutally.
