AHMEDABAD: The Indian team for the Twenty20 World Cup has been announced. Malayali player Sanju Samson, who excelled well in the IPL, found a place in the team. Sanju has been included as the second wicket keeper. Hardik Pandya is the vice-captain of the team led by Rohit Sharma. Yuzvendra Chahal has found a spot in the team. K L Rahul suffered a setback for his poor performance in the IPL. He has not been included in the team.


The senior selection committee on Tuesday named India's 15-member squad for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2024 to be hosted by West Indies and the USA. India will play their first match against Ireland on June 05, 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. India will face Pakistan on June 09, 2024 in the same venue. India will face USA and Canada on June 12 and 15 respectively.
