KOCHI: In this hot weather, it is almost impossible to live without a fan. It is a relief that no power cut has been announced in the state. However there is regular unannounced power outages in different parts of the state. In a recent incident in Kochi, people protested in front a KSEB office when this became unbearable.
People including women and children came to the KSEB office in Palarivattom and said they are unable to sleep due to regular power cuts at night. Consumers from Edappally's Madam Junction, Maitry Nagar, Kaloor, Karukappilli, Perumpotta and Ponekara came to the Palarivattom section office. Palarivattom police also reached the spot after learning about the incident.
Police and KSEB officials was in a fix as the people said they would not go back to their homes without the electricity connection is restored. "There has been a power outage after 11 pm for a few days. We complained many times but there was no solution. The power wasn't restored after the power cut last night," they said.
After calling the KSEB office several times, but getting no response, people from different parts came to the KSEB office in droves. KSEB officials said that the problem was due to excessive load than power lines could handle, but people were not ready to accept it.
