THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police are taking further action on the controversy in connection with the spat between mayor Arya Rajendran and KSRTC driver. The police examined the bus where the controversial incident happened. However, the police said the visuals are not available. This strengthens the suspicion that the memory card has been taken away.
The police examined the bus number KL 15A 763. There are three cameras in the bus. If able to collect the footage, it will be the most crucial turning point in the case. However, KSRTC said the visuals are not available.
KSRTC driver Yadhu said Arya Rajendran's husband Sachin Dev MLA hit the bus. The CCTV visuals should be obtained in order to prove this. The visuals had showed the mayor’s car parked across the bus.
However, the CCTV footage needs to be obtained, while the details of how long the car was parked across the bus and the visuals of the chase from PMG junction.
The police are planning to take the camera and the DVR to examine. The statements of the mayor and the bus driver were recorded the other day. After receiving the police report on the matter, the transport department will take a final decision on matters including whether to take action against the driver or not.
Meantime, Yadhu has responded to KSRTC officials saying that CCTV footage is not available. Yadhu alleged that party activists may have taken away the memory card including the CCTV footage of the bus.
