THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case has been registered by the police over the loss of the memory card containing the CCTV footage of the verbal argument between Mayor Arya Rajendran and KSRTC driver Yadhu. Minister KB Ganesh Kumar had directed an inquiry into the loss of the memory card in the KSRTC bus driven by driver Yadu while he was having the argument with Mayor Arya Rajendran.
The police had earlier informed that they could not find the memory card containing the CCTV footage. The minister gave the directive to KSRTC MD Pramoj Shankar. Thampanoor police has taken up the case based on the complaint filed by KSRTC. The police had earlier given a letter to KSRTC asking them to produce the bus to collect the footage. The bus, which was going to Thrissur for service, was checked by the police after it returned today.
It is unclear who removed the memory card containing the footage. KSRTC driver Yadhu said that someone might have removed the memory card. "CCTV was working when I was driving the bus and the footage should be released. The camera was working since the bus left Thrissur. I think that some party members may have removed the memory card. There is mystery in the incident," Yadhu pointed out.
Police decided to check the footage of the bus after the CCTV footage of the mayor's car stopping the bus near Palayam Saphalyam Complex came to light. There are three cameras in the bus, including the one in front of the driver.
