BANIHAL: A 23-year-old youth died after the vehicle carrying Malayalees met with an accident at Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir. The dead has been identified as Safwan P P, son of Abdullah of Nadapuram in Kozhikode. 14 people sustained injuries in the accident. 12 of them are Malayalees. Six of the injured are in critical condition. Six of the victims are ex-B Pharm students of Jamia Salafia College of Pharmacy in Malappuram.
A similar accident had happened last December. The victims were people from Kerala who were on a pleasure trip to Jammu and Kashmir. Five people had died in the accident. Four of them were Keralites. The car they were traveling in met with an accident while going to Sonam Marg. The vehicle overturned near Sojila pass in Srinagar. The Kealites killed were Sudhesh, Anil, Vignesh and Rahul.
Ijaz Ahmed, a native of Jammu and Kashmir, was driving the vehicle. He also died in the accident. Apart from the driver, there were seven people in the car. Five of them died and three escaped with minor injuries, said Jammu and Kashmir police.
