THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man died while undergoing treatment for suicide attempt. He took the drastic step after the bank refused to give him the money he had deposited in the cooperative bank. The incident happened at Neyyattinkara in the capital city. The dead identified as Thomas Sagaram (55) of Maruthathoor in Neyyattinkara ended his life by consuming poison.
The relatives alleged that he took the extreme step after the bank refused to give him the money, he had deposited in Perumpazhuthoor Service Cooperative Bank in Neyyattinkara. Thomas had deposited Rs 5 lakh in the bank. The bank officials refused to give him money he had deposited for his daughter's wedding. He feared that his daughter’s marriage would be cancelled. His relatives said that he was depressed after this. He consumed poison on April 19 and was undergoing treatment in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. He died Thursday early morning.
