THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The price of gold has come down in the state today. The price of one sovereign of gold has decreased by Rs 400. One sovereign of gold currently costs Rs 52,600. The current price of one gramme of gold is Rs 6,910. One sovereign worth of gold was worth Rs. 53,000 yesterday. This was the highest gold price of this month.

The price of one sovereign of gold crossed Rs 50,000 by the beginning of April. There has been no major change in silver prices. The price of one gram of silver is 86 rupees, while the price of one kilogram of silver is 87,100 rupees.

Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank is purchasing gold in large quantities as part of diversifying its foreign exchange reserves. RBI bought 19 tonnes of gold in the three-month period from January to March. As inflation continues to soar., the Reserve Bank of India has been raising gold reserves to meet any emergency.
