KOZHIKODE: A woman was found dead inside a rented house in Kozhikode. The incident took place at Mambatta in Mukkam in Kozhikode. The deceased has been identified as Aisha Sunitha, a native of Chikkamagaluru in Karnataka. Aisha had been living in the house with her friend Sathar, a native of Areekode in Malappuram.
It was Sathar who first saw Aisha lying dead in the bedroom when he returned home this morning after work. Following this, he informed the police about the matter. The police soon reached the spot and took further action. The police are investigating whether the incident was a murder or a suicide.
On Wednesday, an elderly woman and her daughter were found dead in a house in Kannur. The deceased have been identified as Sunanda V Shenayi (78) and her daughter Deepa V Shenayi (44). Deepa was found lying dead in the dining hall, while Sunanda was found dead in the kitchen. The police said that the dead bodies are believed to be three days old.
It was the Kannur Town police who found the dead bodies when they inspected the house after being informed by the neighbours. The neighbours called the police after noticing that neither Sunanda nor Deepa had come out during the last few days. The neighbours also noticed a bad smell in and around the house in the last few days. The bodies were found swollen and discoloured. Although the door of the house remained open, newspapers of the last three days were found lying outside the house. Only Sunanda and her daughter have been living here for the last ten years. They were not very close to the neighbours. The mother and daughter were last seen outside on April 26 when they went to vote.
