THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The KPCC leadership meeting assessed that the anti-incumbency sentiment worked as a silent wave in the Lok Sabha elections. UDF will have a complete victory in the constituencies where triangular contests took place. League will win both the places contested and RSP seat will also be won. The leadership meeting assessed that they will win Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha and Thrissur constituencies easily and the low polling will affect the Left Front. Congress candidates will easily win 12 of the contested constituencies. Congress is confident of victory in the last round even though there was competition in five seats.

The votes of the Kanthapuram division have been received in full. K Muralidharan will have a majority of not less than 20,000 in Thrissur, where Prime Minister Modi has campaigned for the BJP multiple times. LDF candidate VS Sunil Kumar will lead in Nattika and Puthukkad constituencies. Congress reckons that the remaining five constituencies are with them. Suresh Gopi, who will be second only in the Thrissur assembly constituency, will be third in the parliamentary constituency.

Attingal, Mavelikara, Palakkad, Kannur and Alathur constituencies were heavily contested. There was a comeback here in the last lap. There were 1,60,000 fake votes in Attingal. Measures were taken as per the court order to prevent this. However, some booths were unoccupied. So fake voting could not be completely prevented. Adoor Prakash stated that organizational weaknesses have affected the election activities and there is no fear of failure.

Kodikunnil Suresh said there is no challenge in Mavelikara. K Sudhakaran stated that there were some problems in the initial phase in Kannur and they were resolved in the end and victory is assured. VK Sreekanthan stated that he will win the Palakkad constituency. There will be a majority of more than 25,000 votes. Last time, the Left Front campaigned that the Congress would go third. Saying that Congress will lose this time is part of the same campaign. Ramya Haridas, who thanked for the election work in Alathur, was not ready to say the exact majority.

The late Congress reshuffle caused the initial phase of the election campaign to slow down. Lack of coordination in some places hampered the campaign. All this was resolved later, it was said in the meeting. Sitting MPs and constituency in-charges were the main one who spoke in the meeting. Candidates Shashi Tharoor, Hibi Eden, Benny Behanan and Dean Kuriakose did not attend the meeting due to personal reasons.

Complaint was raised that the in-charges of some constituencies were not called for the election evaluation meeting. The complaints were made by PM Mathew, VJ Joy, Tommy Kallani, Roy K Paulus, Simon Alex and Baburaj who were in charge of various constituencies. Some of them have complained about this to the AICC General Secretary Deepadas Munshi, who is in charge of the state.
