THAMARASSERY: A migrant worker was taken under the pretence of employment and held hostage for several hours. Najmal Alam (18), a native of West Bengal, residing in Thamarassery PC Mukku, was held hostage by Binu, a native of Thanduparakkal, Nilambur, at gunpoint. He was taken into custody by the Thamarassery police.

The incident took place on Friday at 9 am. Alam, who lives in a flat in PC Mukku, Thamarassery, was picked up by Binu on a bike saying that there was work for him and after driving around for a long time, brought him to a flat in the Pallipuram area of ​​Thamarassery. After entering the flat, he tied Alam's hand behind his back and tied him to the window. Alam's face was covered. The scene where Alam was tied up was shown to his friends through video.

Alam tried for a long time with his foot and sent the location to his friends when the attention of the assailant was diverted. Around ten o'clock in the night, the police and the locals surrounded the flat and freed Alam who was in a weak state and admitted him to the Thamarassery taluk hospital. The suspect was taken into police custody. It is not clear why the man was taken hostage. An investigation has been started under the leadership of Thamarassery Inspector O Pradeep.
