THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Sudhakaran's return to the post of KPCC president is likely to get prolonged. Soon after the election in Kerala, the Sudhakaran camp had demanded that the charge of the KPCC president should be immediately returned to Sudhakaran. However, the High Command has not yet given definite instructions in this regard. Sudhakaran will return to Thiruvananthapuram and take charge as KPCC president only after he receives instructions from the High Command.

There is also an argument that it is enough for the KPCC to undergo a leadership change after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election results. The Sudhakaran camp is simmering with unease over the High Command's hesitation in returning the KPCC president post to Sudhakaran. The camp is suspiciously observing the demand raised in the leadership meeting seeking the revamp of the organizational structure.

Some complaints were raised alleging that lack of coordination was evident at the grassroots level in the Congress in some places in Alappuzha where KC Venugopal contested. The party is taking it seriously that there were no presidents for the mandalam committees in many places. It is also estimated that the CUC system implemented by Sudhakaran to mobilize the organization at the booth level was not effective everywhere. It was alleged that many DCC presidents were not diligent in implementing the system. Although the problems at the grassroots level are not problems that can be solved at once, the party is preparing to conduct a study to solve the shortcomings.
