Anarkali Marikar has revealed about changes she made in her dressing after acting in the movie 'Sulaikha Manzil'. "I had a fan following in the Malabar side during that time. The movie was based on their culture. Then I felt that they don't like to see me in sexy dresses. The movie was a hit in Malabar. When the little children see me, they'll call me 'Haala Thatha'. After that, I felt that I shouldn't be wearing such clothes in the presence of family audience," Anarkali said.

"In the past, I used to wear any dress I wanted and do photoshoots. I have decided not to post pics of me wearing modern clothes on Instagram at least for a while. Now I wear such clothes. Back then, I felt that I shouldn't hurt their feelings. For a long time, I had a photo of me wearing 'thattam' (traditional headscarf of Muslim women) as my profile photo," she added.

The actress also talked about acting in a hijab advertisement. "I acted in a hijab ad. I have never worn a hijab. I grew up with parents who allowed me to wear modern clothes. When I go to my native, sometimes I put on a shawl," Anarkali said.
