KALPETTA: CBI has sought expert advice from Delhi AIIMS to clarify the cause of death of JS Siddharth, a student of Pookode Veterinary College student. Siddharth's post-mortem report, forensic surgeon's report and dummy test report have been sent to AIIMS. The CBI has approached AIIMS to find out whether the death was suicide or murder and demanded the formation of a medical board for this purpose.

Siddharth was found dead in the washroom of the hostel on February 18. The CBI had earlier presented the preliminary charge sheet in the case at the High Court. According to the CBI charge sheet, the door of the bathroom where Siddharth allegedly committed suicide was found broken and the lock was detached. The accused likely conducted a mob trial against Siddharth. He was stripped and beaten for two days to force him to admit the crime. The CBI also claimed that Siddharth was not given emergency medical aid.

The court will consider the bail plea of the accused in the case on Friday. The plea of accused Arun Keloth, SD Akash, Billgate Joshua, V Naseef, Rehan Binoy, Asif Khan and Altaf is being considered. Charges such as brutal assault, abetment to suicide and conspiracy have been charged in their names.
