THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan said that the Income Tax Department has frozen the party's bank accounts in Thrissur to weaken the election process. 'The PAN number was wrongly entered due to the failure of the bank with which the account was held. J was written instead of T. The party has only done legal transactions. The party has an account with this bank for 30 years. The Income Tax Department took action saying that the withdrawal of money during the elections was a wrong action. However, ED's permission is not required to use the legally withdrawn money,' MV Govindan said.

Calling the CPM a party that legally keeps figures and gives them to the Income Tax Department, he accused the media of completely mishandling the department's proceedings. 'The district secretary has sent a letter to the bank pointing out the mistake made by the bank. Later, the bank officials themselves admitted that the bank had defaulted in this regard. On 18 April 2024, the bank also gave a letter to the district secretary of Thrissur admitting the mistake they had made.'

MV Govindan said that Arvind Kejriwal's bail shows that India has not reached fascism. "What the Supreme Court has raised is the issue of India's existence. There has never been such a cheap prime minister in the history of India and even the campaign of an RSS member cannot be compared to the communal campaign of the prime minister," MV Govindan alleged.
