THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Labour Commissioner Arjun Pandian has informed that 1810 violations have been found in the hospital sector of the state during the inspection conducted by the labor department for the last four days. Violations were found in 110 hospitals across the state.

The inspection was based on the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act, Maternity Benefit Act and National and Festival Holidays Act. Out of 34,235 workers, 628 were found not getting the minimum. Apart from this, 1182 other violations were also found. Violations must be rectified and the report submitted within the time frame prescribed by labor laws. Otherwise, strict action will be taken, the Commissioner said. The inspection was led by Regional Joint Labor Commissioners, District Labor Officers and Assistant Labor Officers.
