THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have arrested one person in connection with the Karamana Akhil murder case. The arrested person has been identified as Aneesh, who drove the Innova car which was used to kidnap Akhil. Aneesh was nabbed by the police when he was trying to move into a hideout.

The accused in the case are Vattappara native Kiran Krishna, Akhil aka Achu, Sumesh and Vineeth. The police have already taken Kiran into custody. An extensive search is being carried out to find the other three. According to the police, the accused are members of a drug gang.

One of the four accused was sitting in the car. The murder was carried out by three people, police said. Akhil and Vineeth are the accused in the Karamana Ananthu murder case. They killed Karamana native Akhil on Friday, while they were out on bail in this case. The police do not rule out the possibility that the accused may have left the state.

Meanwhile, the police said that the reason for the murder was past enmity. On April 26, there was a clash between Akhil and another group at a bar in Pappanamcode. Akhil attacked the people of the opposing group with a stone. Due to the ensuing feud, the members of the opposing gang attacked Akhil.

It was confirmed that the murdered Akhil and the accused were members of the drug gangs. The CCTV footage of Akhil being brutally murdered had come out earlier. It is clear from the footage that Akhil was killed very brutally.

A stone was thrown at Akhil's body six times and he was beaten non-stop with an iron rod for a minute. When Akhil tried to run away, the gang again attacked him. They continued brutally assaulting him even after he fell unconscious. Akhil had a fractured skull when he was brought to the hospital.

The accused took Akhil to an empty field and attacked him with an iron rod and stones. They later left him on the road. They even threw a stone on his body to ensure his death. It was some locals who found Akhil lying in a pool of blood after half an hour.
