VISAKHAPATNAM: Seven crore rupees seized from a vehicle involved in an accident in Andhra Pradesh. The money was recovered from an overturned vehicle in Ananthapalli, East Godavari. The money was in seven cardboard boxes in the vehicle which was going from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam. The injured driver has been admitted to the hospital.

After the accident, the passengers of the vehicle were noticed to be transferring money to bags and the information was reported to the police. Police said they have started an investigation to find the source of the money and are continuing to question the occupants of the vehicle. The money was handed over to the Income Tax Department.

An unaccounted amount of eight crore rupees was seized from a truck in Visakhapatnam previously. The money was seized from a truck carrying pipes. Eight crore was seized at the Garikapadu check post in the NTR district. The money was hidden in a separate cabin of the lorry. The money was seized while being transported from Hyderabad to Guntur. The police informed that two people who were in the truck have been taken into custody. This is the second time that a large amount of black money has been seized in the state when the elections are to be held on May 13.
