KOCHI: A youth, who was bathing in the Puthyvype beach drowned early Sunday morning. The dead is Abhishek (22) of Kaloor. Two others identified as Albin and Milan, who were with the youth, are in a critical condition. They have been admitted to a private hospital in the district.

A seven-member team from the city had come to the beach in the morning. When Abhishek entered the sea to bathe, he drowned. The others tried to rescue him but failed in their effort. Abhishek was also taken to the hospital immediately, but his life could not be saved. There are reports that there is a notice board here indicating that the sea seemed calm but is a danger zone.
