THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Change in rain warning in the state. IMD has informed that there will be widespread rain today. Central Meteorological Department has declared yellow alert in six districts now.

Yellow alert has been declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Wayanad and Kannur districts today. These districts are receiving heavy rain in the afternoon.

Yellow alert has been declared in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts for tomorrow (13-5-2024). There is a yellow alert declared in Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta districts on the 14th.

A chance of isolated heavy rain is forecast. Heavy rain refers to rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours. Meanwhile, IMD said that there is a possibility of strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph and light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kerala's Palakkad and Malappuram districts in the next three hours.
