MUMBAI: A three-member gang was arrested for stealing black pepper and betel nut worth Rs 16 crore. The arrested have been identified as Sanjay Sable, Alvin Saldana and Prasad Kurhade were arrested. They were taken into custody by Panvel police in Navi Mumbai.

The theft took place at the customs warehouse in Navi Mumbai. The initial assumption of the police is that there is a large robbery group behind the theft. The theft has happened many times in the last two years. The accused's attempt was to take possession of the imported goods without paying customs duty. The police is on an urgent investigation to find the remaining members of the grand theft gang.

The accused tried to steal the products of Alpha Industries, Highland International Company and Future Fast International. The police have not yet been able to trace the owners of the company.
