PATHANAMTHITTA: A man accused of extorting money from a woman from Aranmula by offering her a job in a US shipping company was arrested by Kollam Crime branch. The arrested Ramesh Navarank Yadav, a native of Nallasopara in Maharashtra, is the main accused in the case pertaining to luring woman and taking money through several bank accounts, a police official said.
The said woman was seeking a job and had registered on the website Naukri.com. After this, she received phone calls from several numbers saying that she could get a job in a US shipping company. After this, the complainant sent money to the accounts as mentioned by them. But the woman filed a complaint with the police after she never got the promised job in the shipping company.
During the subsequent investigation, police got details about Ramesh, who is the main accused in a cheating case in Mumbai. Later, on the instructions of Kollam Creme Branch Police Superintendent N Rajan, who is the head of the investigation team, Sub-Inspectors Altaf, Binum CS and Civil Police Officer Shaiju, under the leadership of Crime Branch Kollam Detective Inspector Sanuj, reached Mumbai and took the suspect into custody. He was brought to Kerala and produced before the Pathanamthitta court and remanded. They are investigating whether there are more accused in the case.
