THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Housewife found dead in Kattakada. Jaya (58) resident of Appu Niwas, Maranalloor Kuvalashari died. The housewife was found dead inside the house at 9:30 this morning.

When the neighbour came home looking for Jaya, she was found lying on the bed in the bedroom. Other neighbours were informed when it was found that Jaya was not moving. Jaya's son Biju (35) was at home at this time. Following this, the locals informed the ward member and Maranalloor police.

The police suspect that Jaya's alcoholic son may have beaten Jaya to death. The police have registered a case of unnatural death due to the suspicion that the housewife died due to the beating of her son. Locals say that Biju used to get drunk and create a ruckus in the house and used to beat up Jaya. Biju was taken into police custody in the incident. Jaya's body has been shifted to the medical college.
