THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body of Nambi Rajesh, who died in Oman, was brought to the capital city. His relatives are protesting with the body in front of Air India Express’ office in Eanchakkal. Rajesh’ father-in-law is protesting inside the office. The police have reached the spot.

The relatives demand justice. However, reports said none of the employees of Air India are ready to talk to them. The body will be taken to his house in Karamana and cremated at Shanthikavadam today. Rajesh’ wife Amrita could not fly to Oman due to the strike of the employees.


Nambi Rajesh was working as an IT manager in Muscat. He suffered a heart attack on May 7 and was admitted to a hospital in Oman. He had expressed wish to meet his wife that very day.


Amrita had booked an Air India Express flight on May 8 to fly to Oman. However, she could not go due to the strike of the employees. She was informed that she could fly on May 9, but could not go because the flight was cancelled on that day. No flights were available later. Rajesh succumbed to death on Monday. Amrita is a second-year nursing student. The couple has two children. The family lives in a rented house.
