Dabzee, the towering figure in Malayalam rap music just days back ignited a storm within the music milieu after he publicly showed his wrath at some sound engineers at an event. It is reported that the issue happened last Sunday during the pre-stage sound testing phase of the Ocha music festival. The video of the issue has also gone viral with many taking sides. Despite the feud of words in the online space, Dabzee is seen using inappropriate language while taking the sound engineer to task.
In the video, it is mostly clear that the rap singer from Malabar got irked by the purported reduction in volume made by the sound engineers. Dabzee was seen raging as he took the whole event to a standstill with his outburst. After expressing his rage over the poor workmanship of the sound engineer, the singer placed the mic down and stormed off the stage.
However, after the incident, many other rap music forums and organisations appeared online admonishing the rapper’s conduct. ‘Purpvada’, an online community supporting underground singers lashed out at Dabzee over the issue. While appreciating the singer's mercurial rise to the top of popularity, the community also advised the singer to remain grounded or else seek therapy to control 'anger issues'.
Amidst criticism coming Dabzee’s way, some others found the controversy to be deliberately snowballed and rated the whole incident as quotidian. For some, the sudden outburst from the singer was nothing serious but a common trait shown by people at times of distress. Some others were amused by how things got spiralled as they thought the singer's rage to be 'mildly polite', compared to the ubermensch attitudes espoused by other artists.
Dabzee is the singer behind the famous 'Manavaalan Thug' from Thallumaala and 'Illuminati' from Aavesham.
