KOCHI: Another person has been arrested in the international organ trafficking case centred on Iran. Sajith Shyam, a resident of Palarivattom and, a native of Aluva Edathala, is in custody. He was taken into custody after financial transactions between him and Sabith Nasar, native of Thrissur Edamuttam, who was arrested in the case, were found. Sajith was interrogated under the supervision of Aluva DySP A Prasad and his arrest will be registered soon. DySP said more arrests would be made in the coming days.
After Sabith's arrest, victims of organ trafficking came forward in Thrissur, Ernakulam and Alappuzha districts. Sabith's foreign travel information will be collected with the help of immigration department. Soon, Sabith will be taken to Hyderabad, the hub of the organ racket, for evidence.
Madhu in Iran; Will be brought home
The special investigation team has found that Ernakulam native Madhu, who is one of the main planners of the Iran organ trade, is in Iran. The investigation is centred on his number. The help of the Iranian Embassy will also be sought through the central government.
