CHENNAI: BJP estimates that NDA's seat gain in Tamil Nadu may reach double digits in Lok Sabha elections and DMK's seats will decrease sharply. BJP's analysis came out after the assessment of the Dravida party leadership that the 'INDIA' front will take power and there will be DMK representatives in the government.
A meeting of state office-bearers and district presidents held yesterday under the chairmanship of BJP state president K Annamalai examined the possibility of victory of the party and NDA. It is reported that the district leaders have assured in the meeting that they can make a big improvement in vote share this time. The allegation that some leaders manipulated the use of election funds was also discussed. State in-charge Sudhakar Reddy also attended the meeting.
The DMK has already discussed which departments should be demanded in the new government at the center and who should be given ministerial status. There were rumours in the Tamil media that former Union Ministers TR Balu, A Raja and Party Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi will be made ministers. June 3rd is Karunanidhi's birthday. Chief Minister MK Stalin had called DMK leaders to prepare to celebrate the victory of the 'INDIA' front on June 4. 'INDIA' front leaders will also participate in Karunanidhi's birthday gathering in Delhi.
