murder

PATNA: The police have arrested the main accused in the case in which a 22-year-old was beaten to death at a college campus in Bihar. The feud over a dispute at a celebration last year led to the murder. Harsh Raj, a third-year Vocational English student at Patna BN College, was killed the other day. The arrested person has been identified as Chandan Yadav, a final-year student of the college. The police said that Chandan, the mastermind behind the attack, has confessed to the crime. The police also said that they have intensified the search for other accused in the case.

The attack took place on Monday. Harsh Raj was going to attend an examination at Sultanganj Law College when he was beaten up by a group of 10-15 masked men with sticks and bricks. Harsh died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. A massive protest took place following the death of Harsh. Following this, a special investigation team was appointed to investigate the case.

According to the police, a dispute had broken out between the groups of Harsh and Chandan during the Dussehra celebrations in the college last year. The SP said that Chandan Yadav told the police that his ego was hurt in the dispute.

The footage of the gang brutally beating up Harsh had surfaced the other day. The police are checking the CCTV footage from the campus. The police believe that they will be able to identify the other accused from this.
