PERINGOTTUKARA: The family of the 23-year-old native of Peringottukara, who died under mysterious circumstances in Poland, is searching for the truth behind his death. Ashik Raghu death was declared a normal death and his body was sent to India without a post-mortem. Ashik Raghu's father, who was suspicious about his death, took the body for post-mortem. The post-mortem revealed that the cause of death was a head injury. The father had filed an application with the Indian Embassy stating that it was the problems that happened during a party with his friends that caused this and requested that they be interrogated to find out how his son died but he has not received a reply yet.
Deceased Ashik Raghu was one of the two sons of Abhilash-Bindu couple, natives of Peringottukara. He arrived in Poland a year ago. He was working in the packing department of a fruit packing company. A few months before his death, Ashiq started working in food delivery. Ashik was living with two Malayalam friends.
On April 1, a message reached Ashiq's house that he had died. His friends initially said that he was found dead at his residence. According to this, the prosecutor in Poland ruled that it was a natural death and sent the body without conducting an autopsy. Seeing a contradiction in the statements of Ashik's friends, the father applied to the police for a post-mortem when the body reached home. The family alleges that on the day of Ashik's death, seven of his friends had attended a party and Ashik eventually had problems between them.
The body was brought home on the 12th. The post-mortem report stated that the cause of death was a head injury. Injuries were also found at five places on the body. Ashiq's body has been buried in Lalur instead of being cremated keeping in mind the possibility of a re-postmortem.
