NEW YORK: A nurse has been sacked after calling Israel's attacks on Gaza as genocide. A Palestinian-American Muslim nurse has been fired from her job by a New York City hospital. Labor and delivery nurse Hesen Jabr made the controversial remarks during a speech while receiving the award for her performance in work. The hospital authorities said that it was strictly forbidden to make objectionable remarks on the part of the employees and the action was taken for violating this.
Hesen Jabr’s speech at the award ceremony about the plight of women and children in Gaza turned against her. ‘The women of my country are going through an unimaginable loss in the current genocide in Gaza. It hurts me a lot'. Many of Jabr's colleagues were reportedly upset when the remark was made. It is also believed that some of them had filed a complaint.
Meanwhile, Israel is still carrying out a heavy offensive in Gaza. The local health ministry says 36,000 people have died in the past eight months. This includes women and children. Thousands were seriously injured. People are suffering without food and water due to war and siege. The nations of the world are putting pressure on Israel to end the war. Meanwhile, on May 26, Israel launched a fierce attack on the camps in the security zones where the refugees who came to Rafah were staying. Thirty-five people including women and children were killed.
The camp near the UNRWA logistics space was attacked. Many people stayed here, thinking it was safe as a place under UN control. People lived in tents made of plastic and cloth. This is what has raised the death toll. The explosion set the tents on fire and the people inside were burnt to death. The fire was brought under control after hours of hard work. The extent of the disaster was compounded by the fact that the severely burned victims were admitted to nearby health centers but there were no adequate facilities to provide them with adequate treatment.
