THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Commissioner has issued an order making the presence of authorized trainers mandatory for driving test from today. Students should be brought to the test by the authorized instructor of their respective schools. They should sign the registrar in the presence of officials.
School registers will be collated to prevent multiple schools conducting driving tests after an authorized person is in place. Transport Commissioner has deputed a squad to trace the errant officials.
Meanwhile, those who have attended a driving school can take the test in their own vehicle if they wish. Transport Commissioner issued the circular on Friday as per the government order issued last week revising the test method. Driving School Owners' Association (DSOK) had earlier announced that it was withdrawing from the settlement agreement reached with the Transport Minister.
