THRISSUR: In a major hunt, 75 litres (150 bottles) of Indian-made foreign liquor were seized in Kundannur near Vadakkancherry. The goods were seized by the Vadakancherry police.

150 half-litre bottles of liquor were found buried in sacks in the propertu in front of Kochu Paul's house.

The police said that the seized liquor was kept for sale on the day of Lok Sabha election results and illegal sale first day of the month, as it is a holiday for beverages and bars on that day.

The accused evaded the police and ran away. Police had seized alcohol from the same person before. The state has two dry days from Saturday to Tuesday. According to the police, such gangs intend to charge double the price on these days when not even a drop of alcohol is available at outlets.
