election-commission

NEW DELHI: Leaders of the INDIA Front have met the Election Commission after the exit poll results of the Lok Sabha elections came out. INDIA Front came to the Commission demanding that the counting of votes be made transparent. At the same time BJP also came to the Commission alleging that the INDIA alliance is trying to insult the election results and the Election Commission.

INDIA alliance says that it will win more than 295 seats. The exit poll results completely reject this. The INDIA alliance leaders demanded that the postal ballots should be counted first and the results declared and only after that the votes in the EVMs would be counted. They said booth-wise voting figures should be made available in Form 17C.

Earlier, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had alleged that Amit Shah was threatening the district magistrates by calling them to sabotage the election results. The commission also sought details from Jairam Ramesh on the allegation that he knew about Amit Shah calling 150 people.

The BJP leaders informed the commission that the India alliance is trying to humiliate them in the name of the exit poll results.
