NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi is jumping to a historic victory in Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli. Rahul is leading by more than three lakh votes. So far, he has secured 6,79,173 votes. Rahul magic has also reflected in his second constituency, Wayanad. He is leading in Wayanad too by more than three lakh votes. He has obtained 6,37,028 votes so far.

Rahul's leap is after surpassing the majority won by his mother Sonia Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Rae Bareilly. Sonia Gandhi, who has made Rae Bareli her home turf since 2004, won with a majority of 1.67 lakh votes in 2019. At that time, Sonia won Rae Bareli after defeating BJP's Dinesh Pratap Singh, while five years later, Rahul Gandhi retained Rae Bare Bareli after defeating the same Dinesh Pratap Singh.

The picture seen is Modi wave is behind Rahul wave. Narendra Modi has not been able to increase the lead that Rahul Gandhi raised, at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Modi was able to increase his lead by only more than a lakh. Modi has secured 6,09,735 votes so far. Congress's Ajay Rai got 4,58,681 votes.

The NDA, which announced that it will win more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, has so far managed to win only 293 seats. The India alliance is just behind with 234 seats.
