NEW DELHI: The swearing-in-ceremony of the third Modi Government will be held on June 8 (Saturday). Reports said the preparations for this are being speeded up. If Modi is able to form the government, then he will become the second leader to retain power for a third term since Jawaharlal Nehru. A meeting of the union cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister was held yesterday to review the election results. Matters related to the formation of the next government were discussed in it.
Even when moving forward with the formation of the government, Nitish Kumar, the important leader of the NDA front, not opening his mind is a big concern for the BJP. The reason is that Nitish is the record holder of political coups. Chandrababu Naidu is also not far behind, but not as much as Nitish. However, he has made it clear that he will stand firm with the NDA now.
‘I am going to Delhi to attend the NDA meeting. I am with the NDA. If there are any other developments, it will be informed,’ said Chandrababu Naidu while talking to the media for the first time after the win. TDP won 164 out of the 175 seats in Andhra Pradesh assembly elections. The party won 16 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Meantime, desperate efforts are being taken to keep Nitish on their side.
The BJP, which was confident of winning 400 seats, had started preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of the next government even before the results of the Lok Sabha elections were officially announced. It was reported that a tender was invited for the supply of plants and flowers required to decorate the venue where the Prime Minister and other ministers arrive for the swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the tender was expected to cost Rs 21.97 lakh. There were hints that BJP's political event would be held at the Bharat Mandapam or Kartavya Path on the same day as the official swearing-in ceremony.
The Lok Sabha Secretariat is making arrangements to facilitate the travel, arrival and accommodation of the newly elected MPs across the country at transit points such as airports and railway stations.
