THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The third-year progress report of the LDF government of Kerala stated that the state government has not yet abandoned the SilverLine project. The Rs 60,000-crore semi-high-speed project is being implemented by the Kerala Rail Development Corporation, a joint venture of the central and state governments. According to the report, the land acquisition will begin after completing the environmental studies and obtaining the necessary permissions.

Railways had given approval to undertake pre-investment activities. Actions have been taken accordingly. The report also stated that the state government is taking steps to obtain central permission.

The report also stated that Kochi Metro has been entrusted with the construction of the flyovers in Sreekaryam, Pattom and Ulloor as part of the preparations for the Thiruvananthapuram Light Metro. The land acquisition process for the Pattom flyover is 95 percent complete.
