NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. It is reported that the Congress Working Committee has passed a resolution in this regard. Kumari Selja said that the wish of the Congress working committee is that Rahul Gandhi should become the leader of the opposition.

Senior Congress leader and newly elected MP from Alappuzha KC Venugopal said that the working committee has unanimously requested Rahul Gandhi to take the responsibility of the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The Congress resolution praised Rahul Gandhi's efforts in the election campaign.

Congress leadership is of the view that the Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra designed and led by former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had a major impact on the elections. These two yatras, which reflected his thinking and personality, were historic turning points in our country's politics and instilled hope and confidence in lakhs of workers and crores of voters.
