NEW DELHI: The third NDA government headed by Narendra Modi will be sworn in shortly. The oath-taking ceremony will begin at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7.15 pm. 36 people including Prime Minister Narendra Modi from BJP and 12 people from eight constituent parties will take oath of office. The important change is that BJP national president JP Nadda is joining the cabinet.Thrissur MP Suresh Gopi and George Kurien from Kerala are included in the cabinet.

At the same time, among the constituent parties, Ajit Pawar's NCP has rejected the invitation to the cabinet and is staying away as a sign of protest. The action of Ajit Pawar faction is in protest of not getting cabinet status in the Union Cabinet. Party President Ajit Pawar responded that Praful Patel becoming the Minister of State is not even conceivable or acceptable.

All the prominent figures of the previous cabinet are included in the third cabinet also. At the same time, there is no indication as to who will manage which departments. Sources close to the BJP indicate that there will be no change in the important departments of Home Affairs, External Affairs, Defense and Finance. Ashwini Vaishnaw is also likely to reach the railway department, which is going ahead with the Central Special Action Plan.
