NEW YORK: As the New York leg of the T20 World Cup came to an end yesterday, the Nassau Stadium in New York, which hosted eight matches of the competition, including the exciting showdown between India and Pakistan, is scheduled to be dismantled. Authorities have already brought several bulldozers to the makeshift stadium, which is located in Eisenhower Park in Long Island, New York.

The stadium will be dismantled on June 14. A video of bulldozers lined up to demolish the stadium is currently going viral on social media.

The stadium's pitches had garnered attention for all the wrong reasons throughout the tournament. The outfield was criticized for being too slow, and the pitches came under scrutiny from many former and current players for their unpredictable bounce and poor play.

The stadium used drop-in pitches, which were prepared off-site and then installed into the ground before each match. Temporary stands, accommodating up to 34,000 spectators and designed by Populous, were swiftly erected, with turf supplied by LandTek Group, known for successful projects with New York's Major League Baseball teams and Inter Miami Major League Soccer team.

The drop-in turf square was curated in Florida by Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions and head curator Damian Hough, transported in pieces on a 20-hour journey before being assembled at the venue.
