Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's selfie video took the Indian social media by storm on Saturday. The video was taken during the G7 summit in Italy. This was PM Modi’s first foreign trip after assuming power for the third time.

The selfie video taken by the Italian prime minister came with the caption, “Hi Friends from Melodi”. The video which was shared in X is currently trending at the top spot. It was during the 2023 G20 summit in India that ‘Melodi’ trolls started filling the internet space for the first time. Despite the formal meeting between the two heads of their respective nation, the countenance and the beaming smile from PM Meloni upon meeting PM Modi turned fodder from online memes.

A selfie taken by the two leaders during the climate summit in Dubai last year was also widely shared on the internet. Prime Minister Modi arrived in Italy on Friday after accepting Meloni's invitation to attend the G7 Outreach Summit. PM Narendra Modi also discussed bilateral relations with Giorgia Meloni on Friday. According to the Prime Minister's Office, Giorgia Meloni congratulated Modi on his third consecutive term as Prime Minister.
