KOCHI: In a report submitted to the High Court, the police demanded that the plea filed by accused Rahul P Gopal seeking quashing of the FIR in the Pantheeramkavu domestic violence case should be dismissed. Rahul said that he decided to reunite with his wife and demanded that the case should be dropped. According to the report submitted by Kozhikode Assistant Commissioner Saju K Abraham, the case will not be closed and the investigation will continue. Rahul may have threatened his wife and changed her statement. It was also stated that the case investigation is in the final stage.
If Rahul, who is an alcoholic, and his wife live together, there is a possibility of further problems. Rahul, who has gone abroad, will be brought home and questioned. A case of polygamy was also filed as Rahul was found to have previously registered his marriage with another girl from Kottayam. The woman was seriously injured when she came to the station to file a complaint against Rahul. The medical report also confirmed it. A case of attempted murder will also be filed against Rahul based on this.
It is not credible that Rahul says that the issues were settled because the woman persisted in her complaint even in the confidential statement given after 11 days. It is possible that the accused, who has high financial capacity, threatened the woman and forced her to change her statement. According to the report, the parents are worried about the stand of the woman to live together with Rahul.
The woman's affidavit was also included with Rahul's petition in the High Court. The woman had said that she had given her statement against Rahul due to pressure from her relatives and that Rahul had not beaten her up for dowry. High Court sought a police report following this.
Rahul will be brought home
